Trans Provence 2012 Lau s'éclate et gagne

L'Enduro Trans Provence 2012 se termine sur une journée intense. Sur le plan sportif, le suspens était total. Nico Vouilloz accusait un retard conséquent de 1mn45 sur Nico Lau, mais roulait sur ses terres sur des tracés et un terrain qu'il connait très bien, quand le vosgiens lui le découvrait totalement. Jey Clementz, lui aussi dans la course, allait toutefois rapidement abandonné la lutte pour porter secours à Sven Martin, tombé dans la 1ère spéciale. Il reprendra la course bien évidemment, et conservera d'ailleurs sa 3ème place, mais après avoir consacré beaucoup d'énergie et de temps au secours et du coup roulé sous la pluie quand les autres ont pu rouler au sec.

En ne concédant qu'une trentaine de secondes à Nico Vouilloz à l'issue de la dernière  journée Nicolas Lau réalise une performance en tout point remarquable. Il fait preuve d'une capacité de pilotage à vue impressionnante, et aura également su gérer la pression et rester concentré jusqu'au bout. Sur cette course extrêmement exigeante qu'est la Trans Provence, il aura acquis le statut d'homme à battre de la discipline.

 

Chez les filles, Anne-Caroline Chausson l'emporte en bouclant les 7 jours à la 22ème place du scratch.

René Wildhaber en tête sur le glacier devant Nicolas Vouilloz et Dan Atherton

Nicolas Lau Team Cube France second de l'édition de la Megavalanche de l'Alpes d'Huez 2012

La 18ème édition de la Megavalanche de l'Alpe d'Huez restera gravée comme une des plus difficiles mais aussi les plus réussie. Le principal fait de course restera la chute et  la casse mécanique de Nicolas Vouilloz, à qui la victoire semblait promise lorsqu'il franchissait le col de Poutran avec 45 secondes d'avance sur Rémy Absalon. Le rider Vosgien du Team Commençal auteur d'un excellent départ a fait parler sont expérience et a gérer mieux que tous ses adversaires l'épreuve d'endurance. Il devance de quelques secondes l'Alsacien  Nicolas Lau du Team Cube qui signe là une des plus brillantes performances de sa jeune carrière. Dan Atherton accroche une superbe 3ème place qui lui arrachera même un fugace sourire, c'est dire... Le podium est complété par  Greg Doucende, toujours présent, et François Bailly-Maitre. Jérôme Clémentz l'autre top pilote Alsacien du Team Cannondale termine finalement 6ème à 2minutes du vainqueur. Bravos les Alsaciens!
